A great article from a great economist, the incomparable Anders Aslund, on how Paul Krugman just doesn't understand Europe (I would hasten to add, or anything else for that matter). The best is perhaps at the beginning when Aslund calls our attention to the fact that Krugman once compared Latvia and Argentina as two basket-cases of the same coin. I guess if you hate ACTUAL austerity and despise market-oriented solutions, you'd try to find the equivalence of a Keynesian model state founded on economic populism and declining from developed to developing country status over a hundred year span (Argentina) with a small, open economy that was subjugated under communism and is now somewhat of a model for economically liberal policies. You say potato, I say horsepucky.
